This belt is nothing short of amazing! There's just no comparison. When I received my belt in the mail I knew it was something special. Once I opened the box and the packaging to reveal the belt I knew I had made the right choice. The soft red core gives this belt the perfect amount of rigidity and the layers provide a nice hefty weight. The embroidery is spot on and the Made in the USA craftsmanship is second to none! I will only wear Kataaro belts from now on. PERIOD.
Well done Kataaro!

I received my Kataaro black belt about a week before I completed my final exam (4 of 4). The first impressions were great. The belt was nicely coiled with a white ribbon tied around it. I really appreciated Kataaro coiling the belt to prevent from creating any creases in the belt. They also included a personal note on the order form thanking me for the purchase.
The embroidery looks great. The Kataaro staff was very patient and showed me what the different options would look like, helping me to ultimate decide on the shadow color that I liked the best. I also chose the black back-bobbin to prevent the mirror effect on the back side.
Comparing the Kataaro belt to the under-belts I received during training; even the less-firm Kataaro belt (with the red core) is much stiffer. As a result, I've decided to change the way I tie my belt. I used to cross the belt in the back; however, the wider 2" (vs 1 3/4") and stiffer belt felt noticeably different. So I looked at the instructions on the Kataaro website on how to do the wrap-tie. I altered their method slightly to have the triangle of the knot point to the right vs the left.
My only complaint is the belt was 3" inches shorter then what I ordered. To Kataaro's credit they do warn you when you order the belt and sent a card with the belt to remind me the length may vary from what you ordered. With that said, I was still surprised the difference was 3". I was anticipating 1" or maybe 2". However, in the end, it will all work out. I normally wear a size 6 (120") but ordered a size 7 (125"). Even with the 3" reduction in length, I still have approx. 1 1/2" between my embroidered name (approx. 11" in length) and the knot, leaving a length of approx. 13" of belt on each side of the knot. So if you have a long name, you may want to order a belt size larger to account for the possible reduction of length.

Kataaro makes amazing products, exemplifies professionalism, and is very detailed when it comes to satisfying customers. I've had nothing but great experiences ordering multiple products from this company and will be ordering more belts for some of my instructors in the future. This belt specifically is the belt that I use to train in, it feels great, and I love how the quality stands above the rest. I highly recommend them for the very best customized belts!
